NPC Orc Spirit Badge

NPC Orc Spirit Badge

Every game needs somebody standing behind the counter, guarding the bridge, selling suspicious turnips, or explaining where the dungeon is. The NPC Orc Spirit Badge celebrates the green fellas who fill those jobs while carrying entirely too many personal quirks.

Ranger Fact: An NPC who likes squirrels, distrusts paladins, and sells musical goods is not badly designed. They are ready for play.

Point Value: Worth 10 Glory Points toward your Monster Rangers badge collection.

HOW TO EARN THIS BADGE

Choose one:

  • Roll or choose three random traits and create an Orc NPC with a name, one strong preference, and one thing they sell or do.
  • Run a five-minute improvised scene where another Ranger meets your Orc and tries to get useful information.
  • Write ten odd jobs an Orc NPC might have in a fantasy town, making each one stranger than the last.

Jr. Monster Rangers

Choose one:

  • Make a green paper Orc and give them one job, one favorite thing, and one thing they dislike.
  • With a grown-up, roll dice or draw cards to invent three silly Orc traits.
  • Act out a short shop scene where your Orc sells one useful object and one completely ridiculous object.

Secret Power (for the Monster Rangers RPG)

“Background Character” — Once per session, introduce a minor local NPC who can provide a small service, rumor, or mundane item. They are helpful, but they also have one odd complication.
