Gel Cube Spirit Badge

Gelatinous Cubes are less majestic than dragons but considerably better at eating tent stakes. They drift through camps and outposts, swallowing scraps, tools, snacks, and whatever else careless Rangers leave behind. Looking inside one is often a complete inventory of somebody else's bad housekeeping.

Ranger Fact: If a campsite is clean, the Gel Cube has less to eat. If the campsite is filthy, congratulations: you have established a buffet.

Point Value: Worth 10 Glory Points toward your Monster Rangers badge collection.

HOW TO EARN THIS BADGE

Choose one:

  • Do a full campsite or backyard sweep and remove every scrap, wrapper, loose bit of cord, or forgotten object a Gel Cube could swallow.
  • Make a clear container 'Gel Cube inventory' using ten safe household objects and let another Ranger guess why each one ended up inside.
  • Inspect your camping or event kit and identify five items that would be especially annoying to lose inside a transparent monster.

Jr. Monster Rangers

Choose one:

  • With a grown-up, clean a picnic, camp, or play area until there is nothing a Gel Cube should eat.
  • Fill a clear box with safe objects and make a pretend Gel Cube for another Ranger to inspect.
  • Play What Did the Cube Eat by hiding five small safe items in gelatin-colored paper or fabric and guessing them by shape.
