Fishcat

Fishcat

Fishcat is skinny, weird, lives on fishes, and somehow manages to bring joy wherever he swims. His howl carries through moonlight, creepy critters gather around, and monsters consider this excellent company.

Ranger Fact: Do not underestimate a creature that can purr, howl, swim, glow, and still be described as frail. Fishcat is working with a very unusual toolkit.

Point Value: Worth 10 Glory Points toward your Monster Rangers badge collection.

HOW TO EARN THIS BADGE

Choose one:

  • Spend an evening near water or under moonlight and record three sounds you hear, then decide which one Fishcat would answer.
  • Create a Fishcat silhouette or craft that combines unmistakable cat and fish features without making either part optional.
  • Make a short calming soundscape using purring, water sounds, humming, or another gentle noise and share it with another Ranger.

Jr. Monster Rangers

Choose one:

  • With a grown-up, listen for nighttime sounds and pick one that sounds most like a Fishcat call.
  • Make a paper Fishcat with whiskers, fins, and a tail designed for swimming.
  • Practice a soft pretend purr that can calm down a stuffed monster after a rough day.

Secret Power (for the Monster Rangers RPG)

“Moonlit Purr” — Once per session, emit a soft glow or soothing sound that calms a tense creature or helps companions find their way in darkness. It creates a brief opening for trust or movement.
